Hello!
I’m Sheila Duncan – an Award Winning Wedding Celebrant based in Liverpool, Merseyside. Travelling across Merseyside, Cheshire, and Lancashire creating memorable, unique Wedding Ceremonies for couples like you wanting to celebrate their marriage in style!
Let me introduce myself and share with you a little about me:
I’m from Liverpool and live in the outskirts of this amazing city. I am a typical Liverpudlian, with a warm heart, a great sense of humour!
My Favourite Things
When I am not Creating Wedding, Vow Renewal, and Naming Ceremonies, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, creating memories and enjoying each other’s company. And then there’s my furry little pal, Yoshii, the cheekiest and most lovable member of my family. He keeps me on my toes with his cute shenanigans – I just can’t get enough of him.
I love to travel, and love nothing more than lying on the beach with a good book, listening to the sound of the sea. Occasionally, I enjoy going on a city break in order to do some sightseeing.
Creating unforgettable and personal ceremonies for both couples and families who are not only celebrating precious moments in their lives, but also wanting to do it in a unique and personal way, is my passion.

My celebrant journey
Why I became a Celebrant
My introduction into the Celebrant world started when I attended the Naming Ceremony for my great-nephew Theo. It was my first experience of a Celebrant led Ceremony, up until this point I was unaware that Celebrants existed.
The following year, I attended a Celebrant-led Wedding Ceremony as a guest, and I was thrilled to have been invited to be involved .
Having been raised in an era where the only options for couple to be married was either in Church or at the local registry office, I loved the idea that a couple could celebrate their marriage by having a ceremony created with their personalities stamped all over it, something totally unique rather than following the status quo, literally inspired me!
Captivated by the vision of being able to create and officiate such unique, personalised, ceremonies, being a part of such precious moments in people’s lives, I just had to follow my dream.
Encouraged by my husband Stephen, my best friend and daughter Casey, I turned that vision into reality. Taking the leap of faith from a career in finance to the celebrant world in 2020 I am so proud to say that I am now an award winning, modern Celebrant!
I trained with Civil Ceremonies Ltd, and gained my NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Naming and Couples Ceremonies, the highest level of qualification available in the UK.
